On the 5 Pillars of the Sarah Wragge Wellness Lifestyle

At Sarah Wragge Wellness, we believe you should equally nourish both your body and soul. As modern women who are always on the move, that's not always easy. The good news? Finding a flow that works for you in the midst of everyday life is key.

Today, let’s explore our five pillars for living the Sarah Wragge Wellness lifestyle:

Eat 80% Plant-based, Real Food

First of all, we’re not diet people. And you shouldn’t be, either! But one thing most of the popular diets these days have in common is eating more plants. Now that’s something we can definitely get behind.

Our philosophy is rooted in filling your plate with 80% plant-based foods (think green leafy vegetables, antioxidant-rich berries, nuts/seeds, and complex carbohydrates like sweet potato). This ensures you’re feeding your cells with all the nutrients they need to thrive while also leaving room for soul-feeding foods like a weekend glass of wine, birthday cake, and a dinner out on a well-deserved vacation.

We know this many plants can seem like a lot, which is why we love the Well + Good Cookbook which is filled with lots of easy, veggie-centric recipes to inspire you.

Maintain Balanced Blood Sugar

Balanced blood sugar helps manage weight and prevents diabetes and insulin resistance, but it also keeps your energy levels soaring and your mind clear. Our trifecta for keeping you sated and full? A combination of protein + fat + fiber at every meal. Plus, try to have at least two of these for a snack.

It’s especially important to start your day with a balanced meal. Green smoothies with at least 20 grams of protein are our go-to.

Mindful Movement

One of our most important Sarah Wragge Wellness principles is to move your body daily in a way that feels good for you. Whether it’s crushing a spin class, sweating in a vinyasa flow, or simply going for a long walk — incorporating daily movement helps flush toxins, balance blood sugar, maintain a healthy weight, and boosts mood + mental clarity.

Digestion + Alkalinity

When our digestion is off, our bodies become acidic. This throws everything else off, too. After all, quick and efficient digestion is how our body removes toxins and assimilates nutrients from the food we eat. One of our favorite ways to alkalize and get things moving is sipping a glass of warm water with lemon first thing in the morning.

It’s also incredibly important to hydrate throughout the day, but we know plain water can get boring. It’s why we love this infused water cookbook for delicious suggestions to make getting our 3-liters a day a little easier.

Recovery + Stress Management

As women, we are always on the go and caring for others before ourselves. But if we don’t take time each day to regroup and reflect, we’re going to burn out FAST. One of our favorite ways to give ourselves a bit of self-care is bookending each day with a few rituals.

Our personal favorites include one minute of simple breathwork, gratitude journaling, savoring a cup of herbal tea, stretching in our PJs, or taking a long bath or shower to literally rinse off the day.

Don’t be afraid to start small and think about what feels supportive to you. Then, work on implementing one or two grounding rituals into your day at a time.
